Spear Infantry
The Spear Infantry played a big part in medieval armies because they could defend their army really easily. Just by holding their spears ahead of them slightly tilted up they could stop any cavalry from getting through. The disadvantage is they are very vulnerable to bow and missile units. Spears could be thrown and reach the enemy with out them reaching you. One thing that was a disadvantage with having a spear was that the handle was made from wood and was easily broken with a sword, so just in case that ever happened they had a spare sword on their side.
Sword Infantry
The Sword Infantry also played an important role in medieval armies since they were basically the body of an army. Most armies would consist of Spear, Sword and Bow infantry, as well as cavalry. The sword was a very good weapon to use in battle since it was easy to hold but quite strong, like the spear the sword has a wooden handle, but it is only the size of your two hands so there is no wood to be broken, the rest of the sword is steel, some swords even have steel handles. So Sword infantry were one of the better units in an army.
Bow Infantry
The Bow Infantry were a really good unit to use in armies since they could fire arrows up to 250 meters long. The Chosokabe Clan was known For their extraordinary archery skills. The bow infantry was useful for the fact that if they ever run out of ammo they still had the training to use a sword quite well. Their is a weakness though, since they are bow infantry not sword or spear the others were trained with their weapon not a bow. usually bow infantry would lose a fight against sword or spear infantry.
